The manufacture and sale of mobile homes are highly regulated by the U.S. Every mobile home must include, for instance, a HUD label, screwed permanently onto the exterior of the home, that certifies the home was manufactured in compliance with the Federal Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards. So moving on, the first place you’ll check for your mobile home VIN number is the data plate on the structure’s interior. This data plate is a sticker and it lists the VIN number and other data relevant to your mobile home. (Note: sometimes it’s also known as a serial number.). We have 7 properties for sale listed as 1989 fleetwood manufactured, from just $17,999. Find fleetwood properties for sale at the best price.
Where can I find the manufacturer's model name for my mobile/manufactured home?
Wednesday, June 26, 2019
The model name/number is on the data plate inside the home. A HUD data plate has been required to be placed inside every mobile home manufactured since July, 1976, and it is usually located on the inside of a kitchen cabinet door, behind the door over the electrical panel, or on the wall of a closet.
There is a line near the top of the data plate identified as for “Manufacturer’s Serial Number and Model Unit Designation.” The model name is listed after the serial number, separated by a space or dash. The data plate shown above is an example of one with a model name that is a combination of letters and numbers. But it could also just be a name, like “SueAnn,” or a combination of name and numbers like “Palm Bay 6233” shown below.
Sometimes the manufacturer can provide the model name for a newer home based on the serial number, if the data plate is missing or you can’t find it. The model name may also be found on the mobile home registration, purchase receipts, or the loan financing papers.
